FSLT Presents: Oklahoma!

NOTE:  Cast: 6+ males ages approximately 18-60+, 4 females ages approximately 18-60+, plus large adult male and female ensemble

Character descriptions

Aunt Eller. (Female aged about 50s. Mezzo.) Hard-working, Fun-loving, and sassy; Laurey’s aunt. Farmer.

Curly. (Male aged 20s-30s. Baritone) A young cowman; mischievous bordering on arrogant; handsome. Pining for Laurey, but can’t communicate it.

Laurey. (Female aged 20s-30s. Soprano) A farm woman; lovely, tomboyish and innocent. Lives on her farm with her aunt. Pining for Curly, but can’t let herself show it.

Will Parker. (Male aged 20s-30s. Tenor) A young cowman. Happy-go-lucky, and folks can’t help butl like him. Acts first, asks questions later. Talented and flirtatious. In love with Ado Annie.

Ado Annie. (Female aged 20s-30s. Soprano) A young woman, and a farmer’s daughter. Flirtatious, fun-loving, and absent-minded.

Jud Fry. (Male aged 30s+. Baritone) A farmhand described as growly, if hardworking. He’s interested in Laurey, but there’s something almost sinister about him.

Ali Hakim. (Male aged 30s+. Tenor) A traveling salesman who claims to be from Persia—these territory folk don’t know any different. Not looking to put down roots.

Gertie Cummings. (Female aged 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A young woman, a spoiled daughter of a store owner. Has a unique laugh.

Andrew Carnes. (Male aged 50s+. Any vocal part) A farmer. Gruff. Loves his daughter, Ado Annie, but he’s focused on other things—like hunting.

Ike Skidmore. (Male aged 50s+. Baritone) Ranch owner. Along with Eller, often the voice of reason. 

Fred. (Male aged 20s-30s. Baritone) A young cowman.

Slim. (Male aged 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A young farmer.

Ellen. (Female aged 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A young woman. Naive.

Kate. (Female aged 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A young woman. Knows all the gossip.

Virginia. (Female aged 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A young woman. Maybe a writer. 

Vivian. (Female aged 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A tomboyish young woman. She doesn’t need a man.

Cord Elam. (Male 20s-30s. Any vocal part) A cowman, a bit of a rabble-rouser

Mike. (Male 20s+. Any vocal part) A farmer. Fun-loving.

Joe. (Male 20s+. Any vocal part) Cowman. Competitive.
