COVID-19 Cancellation of FSLT’s Production “The Tin Woman”
We had such exciting plans for 2020, our 73rd year of community theatre. Enter COVID-19 and an unprecedented plot twist. In consideration of government directives, and the health and safety of our patrons and volunteers, we found ourselves canceling show after show. Now, as the coronavirus battle continues, the Fort Smith Little Theatre announces cancellation of our fall production, The Tin Woman. The production was scheduled to open September 23; auditions were to begin August 17. It is our hope to include this production in our next season of shows.
As currently written, government directives regarding crowd limitation and social distancing restrictions for the audience, on-stage, and back-stage areas, necessitate that we remain shuttered until further notice. It is not fiscally or physically possible for us to perform in our facility until guidelines are eased.
The status of our November/December productions, as well as our plans for Season 2021, will be announced at a later date. At that time, we will also provide the details of our donation/reimbursement policy for 2020 Season Pass Patrons. In the meantime, we ask Pass Patrons for their continued patience and trust. Should you have any concerns, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message at 479.783.2966 (extn. 4).
Please keep in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic closed the doors of our theatre in March and effectively removed our ability to receive ticket income. However, it has not removed ongoing monthly expenses to maintain our facility and operate our business. To put it succinctly and sincerely, your contribution would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made online or mailed to FSLT, PO Box 3752, Fort Smith, AR 72913.
With your continued support, our community theatre will be here, ready and anxious to perform at the end of this long, forced intermission. After all, the show must go on. Just not right now. So stay healthy, be safe, and hold your applause.
